After establishing himself as a successful artist in his native land,Pino decided to immigrate to the United States to have more artistic freedom and opportunity. He was soon discovered by the distinguished Borghi Gallery, which held several prestigious exhibitions in New York and Boston.

Pino's early paintings feature soft, romantic characters (mostly women dressed in flowing skirts and dresses),which caught the attention of several book publishers. For the next two decades,Pino's oeuvre was marked by hundreds of book covers painted for romance novels written by Danielle Steels,Sylvie Summerfield and Amanda Ashley.

Pino's canvases elicit of warmth, nostalgia, love, and family. His alter ego—a young boy surrounded by beautiful women (his sister, aunts and cousins served as inspiration)— is found in various states of emotion ranging from adoration to isolation. Many of Pino's characters frequently inhabit sensuous boudoirs and dressing room in anticipation of their husband or lovers.

Pino's technique—stemming from warm and exciting color to a subtle yet simple approach to the subject—is his trademark and demonstrates why his original oils,limited-edition Giclees and serigraphs are in such demand.
